miniReview: Sharasojyu (2003, Shara)

Shara is a minimalist movie about mourning. The strength of the movie is the absence of voyeurism and condescension towards the characters. The camera seems to catch something happening in front of it instead of being acted for it.

Made in pure japanese style (almost no dialogues, very visual & suggested), it is a beautiful film. You have to be ready to give in to appreciate though.
